Committee Description: To perpetuate the high standards of clinical service, professional service, professional leadership and personal attributes specified for each of the Chapter awards by selecting individuals who demonstrate the appropriate characteristics.

Conference Planning Committee

 Committee Description:

  • Recruit speakers for spring and fall continuing education workshops that will meet the special needs of the Chapter membership.
  • Education of the Chapter membership, rather than the public shall be the prime purpose of this committee
  • This committee will assist with conference agenda and exhibitor recruitment
  • Poster presentations will fall under this committee

Continuing Competence Committee

Committee Description:

  • Individual members will complete application reviews submitted to NCPTA, and work in conjunction with DAL-Education to review NCPTA programming.
  • The committee will review and decide on appeals of applicants denied approval.

Ethics Committee

The duty of this Committee shall be to investigate any complaints of violations of ethical principles or standards made against any member in its jurisdiction, in accordance with the Association’s Procedural Document of Disciplinary Action

Finance Committee

Committee Description:

  • Serve as Audit Committee
  • Based on the Treasurer's quarterly reports, compare income and expenditures of each Program within the budget allocation to that unit, bringing inconsistencies to the attention of the Chapter Board of Directors.
  • Review Chapter investments 
  • Review the proposed budget 
  • Monitor and evaluate the investments on an ongoing basis. 
  • Ensure the investment policies are adhered to and objectives remain appropriate.
  • Review assets in the Chapter's general fund accounts and recommend revisions to the Board of Directors.

Legislative Committee

Committee Description:

  • This Committee was established to advise and assist the Vice President in state and federal legislative activities. The committee supports the NCPTA's efforts to promote and protect the professional status and economic and general welfare of qualified persons engaged in the practice of physical therapy as well as to ensure patient access to physical therapy services in North Carolina
  • Educate members regarding legislative advocacy at both state and federal levels.
  • Establish and coordinate a network of members prepared to advocate in behalf of the profession and our patients.
  • Educate legislators regarding physical therapy and issues that affect our members and our patients/clients.
  • Monitor legislative issues at both the state and federal level and make recommendations regarding legislative initiatives and responses.
  • Be responsible for coordinating the flow of information concerning legislative issues, soliciting input from members and keeping leadership and members informed.
  • Seek advice of NCPTA Legal Counsel and direct actions of Counsel and our legislative agent.

Payor Relations Committee

Committee Description:

  • This Committee was established with the charge of "communication, contact and follow through with third party payers, and dissemination of information to members.
  • Be responsible for coordinating the flow of information concerning the Third Party Payers and for disseminating this information to the Chapter.
  • Develop relationships with Third Party Payers so the NCPTA is one point of contact for physical therapy inquiries.
  • Assist the Third Party Payers in properly defining physical therapy services to be covered under their contracts.
  • Keep ongoing communication with Third Party Payers who are responsible for physical therapy services and regulatory agencies which are responsible for certifying the quality of services.
  • Monitor the development and progression of any national health insurance plan to keep the membership informed of the plan as it relates to physical therapy services.

Scholarship and Loan Committee
