Wingate University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Earns Accreditation

Effective November 9, 2016, the Wingate University Doctor of Physical Therapy program has earned FULL ACCREDITATION from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education ( . Established in 2012, the program admitted its inaugural cohort in January 2014 and will graduate 41 students on December 17.

During the past 12 months, the department has also been successful in gaining candidacy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education ( for starting its residency programs in Neurologic physical therapy (through a joint partnership with Carolinas HealthCare System) and in Academics, which prepares practicing doctors of physical therapy for an academic career.
